Career & Intensive Service Supervisor
Position status: Full Time (Exempt); report to CNSC ED.

Position Objective:

  • To empower job seekers to achieve long-term economic self-sufficiency; Maintenance of job-seeker caseloads while supporting and stabilizing client job search.

Essential Functions:

  • Seek potential new business from whom to generate jobs particularly in expanding sectors
  • Maintain client caseload assisting them in job search , vocational goal defining and identifying opportunities
  • Counsel and refer to alleviate employment barriers
  • Attendance at community-based meetings, trainings and job development forums to learn and advocate on issues affecting job seekers
  • Maintain participant records, case documentation, follow-up
  • Support job search and placement process
  • Ensure and promote job seeker confidence
  • Provide employment and training leads in consultation with the Job Developer
  • Career oriented counseling
  • Help with mock interviews, resume preparation
  • Experience with bi-cultural and multilingual participants

Requirements:

  • B.A, or B.S. in related field or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Workforce Investment Act (WIA) service (Core B & Intensive Service) program and reporting functions
  • Ability to build partnerships with employers
  • Comfortable taking initiative to build new employer relationships through cold-calling, emailing and community forums
  • Ability to work comfortably with diverse clients and staff base
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work as part of a team to ensure clients optimum access to resources
  • Familiar with educational, vocational training and employer resources
  • Excellent written and communication skills; Computer Literate
  • Bilingual in English & Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) a must, other language a definitely plus

Salaries & Benefits:

  • $40,000 - $45,000 DOE
