Message from CNSC Board President Ginny Poon-Yamate It is with great pleasure and excitement that the Board of Directors of Chinese Newcomers Service Center, announced the appointment of Ms. Julia Ling as our new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2001. Ms. Ling, being the 3rd ED in the last 28 years of CNSC's history, was an attorney in Hong Kong and comes to us with a breadth of knowledge of the Chinese community and possesses extensive knowledge of the plight and issues of newcomers. We believe that she will bring a new set of eyes and ears and ideas to CNSC. Her leadership will dramatically strengthen the Center's role in building a stronger Bay Area community and will help us build a stronger connection between the many newcomers we serve and mainstream society. I hope you will join me and the Board of Directors in welcoming Ms. Ling to the Center and that you will soon have the pleasure of working together with her to continue providing services to foster self-sufficiency and independence of the newcomers within the community.
