New Outreach Service Location in the Richmond District of San Francisco

This year, the Major's Office Community Development Center had given more support to Chinese Newcomers Service Center which enable CNSC to set up their 3rd Outreach Service Location in the Richmond District of San Francisco. The new Outreach Service is located in Agape Community Center at 378, 18th Ave. San Francisco, CA 94121 (at Geary Blvd.)

"Our service not only serves the Chinatown Community but also to serve the other Community", this is what Chinese Newcomers Service Center has been focus on for many years. Starting from January 2001, CNSC began to assign one of her staff to work in the San Francisco Neighbor Resources Center in the Sunset District on every Tuesday. This outreach service assisted many residents of the Sunset District and have obtained positive respond. At the end of 2001, CNSC started the 2nd outreach service location at the Asian Pacific American Community Center in the Visitacion Valley District. CNSC's staff provides services to the residents on every Wednesday. The outreach services proved that with the collaboration with other Non-Profit Agency, CNSC can Extended the community service to different community districts.

The new Outreach Service in the Richmond District of San Francisco will start to serve the residents of Richmond District. The location and service date / time as follow:-

Date : From 9/23/2003
Time : Every Tuesday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Services including: Information and referral, INS form filling registration, verbal interpretation, filling of Social Benefit application forms, telecommunication disputes etc. We will also arrange to organize workshop and seminar of different topics in the Center.

Agape Community Center (ACC) was registered as a Non-Profit Organization in Fall , 2002 and is a subsidiary of The Golden Gate Church. The Golden Gate Church has been serving the Richmond District for many years. Her services including After School program for students, Weekend Chinese School, a Special Development School for the Disables, and Summer School in during summer.

Chinese Newcomers Service Center was established in 1969 and has been serving the community for 34 years. During the years, in addition to the basis service, CNSC has been putting more and more new services, such as: Computer Education for Adult and Students, IDA Saving Program; Seminars related to Immigration Laws, Medi-Cal, Social Security Supplementary Benefit etc. All these service and program were designed for both New Immigrants and Chinese residents.
