12-06-2003: "Saturday Circle" - Chinese Knotting Experience Successfully Completed

The latest Saturday Circle has been completed on 01/03/2004. Chinese Newcomers Service Center will start the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for Elderly (TCE) program on every Saturday from February to April, 2004. Therefore, Saturday Circle will be temporary stop during this period. The participants of this welcomed program will gather together to have a pot luck party on 01/31/2004 (Saturday). The participants of every period of the Saturday Circle will join the party, and exchange their experience of the Chinese knotting and many other things they have learned from the “Saturday Circle”.


"CNSC Saturday Circle" - Chinese Knotting Experience

Date: 12/06, 12/13, 12/20/2003 and 01/03/2004
(Every Saturday).
Time: Beginner: 10:00 am - 12:00 noon (Free)
Intermediate: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm (Class fee $25.00)
Instructor: Ms. Lee Ann Wong
Class Period: 4 weekly classes
Fee: Free, if participants agree to volunteer at the center or $25 per session. Fee for materials may be required.

Program Goals:

  • Create a support group for immigrant adults
  • Enable adults to exchange their job and job seeking experiences
  • Increase participants' awareness of different venues of job openings
  • Increase participants' basic job skills and interview techniques for getting a job
