12-17-2004: Major's Office care about Chinese Community

In a public hearing, Director Jones of Major’s Office of Community Development listened to the presentation made by the Executive Director of Chinese Newcomers Service Center that the seniors of the Chinese community need more attention and care. Director Jones then decided to arrange a free rice distribution to the seniors of the Chinese community before Christmas. The rice distribution was held on 12/17/04, although only 250 seniors could get the free rice, but it need Director Jones and the staff members of MOCD a great effort to fight for the resources from the already tight and limited budget to make it possible. The quantity is limited but the meaning and warm from the MOCD is unlimited.....
