The 2004 VITA/TCE was ended on 4/9/2005. This year, CNSC and volunteers has assisted over 1,200 low-income families and elderly to file their income tax return as well as helping over 600 families to furnish the Working Family Credit application form. This year, through our VITA/TCE service, the tax refund claimed for our clients was over $780,000. We wish to express our sincere thank you to all the volunteers that contributed their time and effort to this service, without them, the VITA/TCE service will not be that succeeded.

The training course for the 2004 VITA/TCE volunteers was held on 1/29/2005. There were over 45 volunteers attended this training course, we have many new faces this year as well as many volunteers who have been helping in this meaningful program for many years. The training started from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

The 2004 income tax filing season will soon begin. The VITA and TCE program Assisting the low-income families and elderly to file their income tax return is one of the signature free services of Chinese Newcomers Service Center. This free service will start from 2/12/2005 to 4/09/2005 and is continuously for 9 week (Saturday only). We are now starting to recruit volunteers for this program.
