Biography of the 2005 Emperor and Empress Candidates:

 
 


Ms. Jane Morrision

At 85 years young, Jane has boundless spirit and energy. Jane devotes most of her time and effort to building a better community. Jane has held numerous positions for the City and County of San Francisco, including 14 years as a member and President (five years) of the San Francisco Human Services Commission; five years as a member of the San Francisco Port’s Waterfront Plan Advisory Board; former President, San Francisco Tomorrow, Friends of the Human Rights Commission and the Democratic Women's Forum. Jane served on the Board of Directors for the Chinese Newcomers Service Center for 12 years and she helped start CNSC's annual telethon on KTSF Channel 26. For the past 14 years she has held an annual Chinese New Year’s party for her friends at her home - each time raising a few thousand dollars for CNSC. Jane is a retired Associated Press and KNBR-NBC journalist, and taught broadcast communications at San Francisco State University and USF. She was married 41 years to the late Jack Morrison, an elected member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in the 1960's.


Ms. Linda Wang

Linda is an active and talented woman with many interests and achievements. With her husband Paul, they are in the real estate investment business for over thirty years. Together, they have two grown children. As a career homemaker, Linda is dedicated to her family and their needs. She flourishes in all things domestic, whether it's entertaining at home, gourmet cooking, sewing, flower arranging - you name it. She excels and revels in making the family home comfortable as possible. Her personal achievements include recently winning several singing and dancing awards and acknowledgements by various organizations. Linda loves to support her community and participates in many charity functions by volunteering under different capacities. Also, as a longtime member of her church, she volunteers in fundraising events. Linda's lifestyle reflects her belief in living the highest quality of life.


Mr. Hubert Gee

Hubert Gee is the Vice President and Branch Manager for the United Commercial Bank . He is originally from Hong Kong and worked his way through college in California. In his work at United Commercial Bank, Hubert is responsible for the San Francisco Broadway branch and the Stockton Street Business Center specializing in retail deposit and commercial loan and credit. Hubert came to the United States over 30 years ago and had served in the Navy for four years during the Vietnam war. Hubert agrees to serve as a 2005 Emperor Candidate because he wants to give back to the community where he serves and to CNSC. He is very active in the community and is currently a trustee e on the Board of Trustee of the YMCA Chinatown. He resides in San Francisco and enjoys traveling and reading in his spare time.


Mr. Christopher Ko

Christopher Ko is currently a Realtor® and Managing Partner of the Residential Choices Group at Realty World Choice Homes & Investments. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Chris received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in Comparative Politics and Public Management. He also received a professional certifi cate in Communications from the California State University, Hayward. An active volunteer, Chris has served on numerous nonprofi t boards and committees, among those include being the Founder and Associate Director of the Chinese Student Union Group and State Secretary/Treasurer of the California Association of Student Councils. He is a strong advocate of community service and encourages his family, friends and clients to give back whenever possible.


Mr. Calvin Louie

Calvin Louie, a native of San Francisco, attended elementary and high school in San Francisco before graduating from UC Berkeley with a major in accounting. His very first job was working in the treasurer's office at the City of Berkeley for over five years. Finding that he was a "numbers man," he continued his accounting career by becoming a CPA. He pursued his career in public accounting and has owned his own CPA firm for the past 26 years. He has been involved with all the Emperor and Empress Charity Balls from the beginning as the accountant tabulating the votes. His interests are traveling the world, reading, skiing, singing, biking, running for political office, and helping the community at large.
