08-16-2006: CNSC Summer Computer Class for Students Completed

CNSC collaborated with San Francisco Lion’s Club to put together another year of the C.A.T.S Program (Computer, Academic, Technology, Success) for children ages 8-11. This special program lasted six weeks from June 26-August 4, 2006.

10 students were enrolled in the program, and 8 volunteers participated as teachers for the program. They were either C.A.T.S. alumni or Leo’s Club volunteers. The goals of the C.A.T.S. program were to educate children, and also allow volunteers to gain leadership skills and communication skills.

Two of our alumni teachers, Vicky and Ava Chan, wrote and implemented the newest edition to our curriculum, MoneyWi$e. Students also went to the Wells Fargo Historical Museum and Wells Fargo Bank to enroll in the Stagecoach Kids Saving Clubs.

Students of the CATS program enjoyed the program, the field trips, and even the contests.
