11-02-2006: 10th Annual Community Food Drive Completed

On November 2, CNSC held its 10th Annual Community Food Drive with collaborations with sponsors and community-based organizations around San Francisco. The Food Drive was held in Chinatown from 1pm to 4pm, and Visitacion Valley from 2pm to 4pm. Nearly 4000 food packages were distributed to low-income households, seniors, and people with disability throughout San Francisco. It was also the first year the CNSC Food Drive ever faced a rainy day. Regardless, CNSC staff and volunteers persisted to serve the community under the drastic weather. CNSC thank all participants to support another year of the CNSC Food Drive. November 2, 2006 was officially proclaimed by Mayor Gavon Newsom the “Chinese Newcomers Service Center Day”.
