06-23-2007: Lotus Garden Tour Completed
Chinese Newcomers Service Center (CNSC) successfully led a tour of approximately 300 people to Modesto’s “Lotus Garden” on June 23, 2007. Aside from sightseeing and photographing the gorgeous view of lotus flowers, net proceeds were fundraised to develop and expand CNSC’s operation including Saturday services.
Lotus Garden is an extremely splendid landmark located 90 miles east of San Francisco; therefore, CNSC decided to share this pleasant paradise with the Bay Area community. This was the second year CNSC held the “Lotus Garden Tour” due to the popular outcomes from the public. Our center’s staff and volunteers managed 4 tour buses along with more than 10 cars from San Francisco and Oakland to Modesto, a doubled capacity from the previous year.
This year, CNSC is proud to have 3 Miss Sing Tao’s Joanna Wu, Lillian Yee, and Jessica Chen to join our tour as VIP Guest Models for the photography contest, which made this event more special and popular with the community. CNSC’s Donor of the Year Hon. Irene Yee-Riley since Year 2003, 2001 Charity Empress Maggie Wong, Board Members Karen Woo, Virginia Sung, and Candy Chan participated in this beautiful event. Along with Sing Tao Daily, Sing Tao Chinese Radio, and KTSF 26 as media sponsors to help promote this event this year, CNSC was co-sponsored by Chinese Cultural Center and eight other Bay Area community organizations.

On June 23, 2007, CNSC is proud to present our second year of the Lotus Garden Tour with Famous Photographer Mr. Louis Ng leading the tour again. CNSC is happy to have Sing Tao Chinese Radio, Sing Tao Daily, and KTSF Channel 26 as our media sponsors this year, as well as various local co-sponsors to support this tour. At the same time, CNSC will be running the Photography Contest, again, along with a series of Chinese Artwork Contests based on Lotus Garden for the public to participate.
