2007 the 15th Annual Emperor and Empress Charity Ball CNSC's 15th Annual Emperor & Empress Charity Ball was a smashing success at the San Francisco Chinatown Far East Cafe on October 26, 2007. Over 500 guests from different organizations attended the Charity Ball; therefore, CNSC successfully surpassed the original goal of $210,000, and fundraised over $260,000 that night. CNSC was honored to crown Bank of America representative Mr. Dennis Peng as Charity Emperor, Wells Fargo Bank representative Ms. Anna Hsiung as Charity Empress, and "Donor of the Year" to both Hon. Irene Yee-Riley and an anonymous donor from CNSC's April 2007 Radiothon who personally donated over $10,000 each to support CNSC's services. Also, CNSC introduced the "Pioneer Philanthropist Award" this year, where Mr. Dennis Peng and Ms. Anna Hsiung competed to raise the most funds. As a result, the Charity Emperor and the Charity Empress tied for the award, creating a new fundraising record for Chinese Newcomers Service Center. With this year's theme as the "New Seven World Wonders," past & present Charity Emperors and Empresses Mrs. Annie Lee, Mrs. Karen Woo, Mr. Peter Lam, Mr. Dennis Peng, Ms. Anna Hsiung, and Mr. Michael Kay participated in spectacular performances and modeling shows based on the different countries to support the fundraiser: Chinese Opera, Peruvian Cultural Fashion Show, Mexican Fiesta, Indian Beauty Dance, Gladiator Tournaments, Indiana Jones, Mardi Gras Celebration, and more.
