CNSC Launches New Program On Internet Safety

CNSC launched a new program called, "Keeping Our Children Safe in Cyberspace" in April 2001. During the month of April we held two community workshops in Cantonese at our computer lab on site, had a staff member appear on a Chinese language call-in radio show, and translated and distributed articles on Internet safety. We also reached out to the English speaking community planning and co-hosting a community workshop on Internet Safety at the United Way of the Bay Area, attended by over 50 non-profit and government leaders. Lastly, CNSC created a new section on our web site at www.chinesenewcomers.org called "Kid Safe" which included extensive links to Internet safety web sites.
