CINA, a non-profit organization, was founded in February 1992, by a group of Chinese Professionals from network computing industry. CINA has been striving to carry out its mission. Being in the information and network sector in an information era, CINA distingushes itself with other organizations by its theme every year. Contents and New Media, E-Services, Internet Appliances and Broadband Communications are the 4 themes for 2000.

Today, with more than 1200 members, CINA is one of the most active and fast growing Chinese professional associations in the San Francisco Bay Area. CINA achieves its goal by holding monthly seminars, special workshops and events, social gathering and so on. Since 1992, CINA has held 60 seminars, 10 technical workshops, 12 conferences, 6 social gathering events, and 3 exhibitions.

Description: Gum Moon Women's Residence provides transitional housing facilities for women in transition. In 1984 Gum Moon established a community outreach project known as the Asian Women's Resource Center (AWRC). The AWRC provides a wide range of services for low to moderate-income monolingual, and bilingual immigrant Asian women, men, youth, and children. The AWRC offers opportunities for cross-cultural experiences, self-improvement and leadership development which are open to all members of our community. Currently our services include: Transitional Housing Survival English Classes Phonics Classes Citizenship Classes Parent-Child Development Program Summer School for Children in Grades 1st-6th After-School Tutorial Program for Children in Grades 1st-6th Chi-Gong Classes Informational and Referral Services Cultural, Social and Recreational Programs.

Wu Yee Children's Services

Description: 1977, Wu Yee was the first childcare and family services organization in San Francisco founded by Chinese, and it is the oldest provider of parent support in San Francisco's Chinatown. Wu Yee supports the improvement of child development services for San Francisco families through its childcare Resource and Referral Program. Concurrently, Wu Yee has expanded and improved the quality of our child development program using a family-centered approach.
