Information and Referral Program
Have you or someone you know ever needed help finding community resources, health care, employment, housing or substance abuse programs? If so you are not alone. Since 1975, the Information and Referral Program has been providing information and assistance to Bay Area communities who need information on and referrals to health and human services.

There are over 5,000 health and human services agencies and 1,100 mutual support groups in the Bay Area. Trying to decide which services are appropriate for your situation can be perplexing and frustrating. That's why HELPLINK's free Information and Referral (I & R) is here.

Last year, nearly 40,000 people like you called HELPLINK with a wide variety of questions:

Where do I find after school programs for my kids?
What if my partner needs to find a job?
Where can my sister go for drug treatment?
Where do I find in-home support services for my elderly mother?
What if I don't have enough money to buy food or pay the rent?
Where can my friend find a support group?

These are just a few samples of the questions we answer every day at HELPLINK. We are available Monday - Friday from 8-6 and have a live answering service after hours and on weekends. Service is available in English, Spanish and Chinese.

And everything is absolutely confidential.

HELPLINK's trained staff and volunteers can help you navigate the health and human care service system. Call and a specialist will listen to you and provide you with referrals to services that will best meet your needs. They will also give you a follow-up call to make sure you received the information and assistance you needed.
